Description: Panoramic view showing crowds of people on a grassed area in the centre, and several tents. On the left there is a board reading "Eastbourne Borough Council Tennis Court Bookings" in front of groups on the tennis courts. The beach and sea are on the right where there are some swimmers and some people picnicking and walking on the beach. Houses at the back of the recreation ground at the base of steep hills, bush-clad in parts. Wellington Heads centre right. Taken by Robert Percy Moore. Description: Photograph album formerly belonging to Kathleen Frances Viard Nimmo. Contains black and white photographs showing family and friends on the beach and yachting around Eastbourne and Wellington Harbour, and possibly the Marlborough Sounds. Probably taken between 1915 and 1929 by unknown photographers. Points of interest are four young men in army uniforms circa World War One, young women in 1920s fashions with sunhats and parasols on the beach, dinghies and yachts off Rona Bay, yachts assembled off Point Howard beach before a regatta, people and a car parked outside a bach, a view looking down a gully past farmland to houses on Wellington harbour, small cottages and bachs, ladies posing on a seawall stair, yachts under sail in Lambton Harbour, a party coming ashore from a yacht by dinghy.
