Description: Photographs taken by Albert Percy Godber, chiefly between 1934 and 1947, but including copies of some of his earlier photographs. Views include trips in the North and South Islands, and views of his home and family, especially in Whiteman's Valley Road and the area around Silverstream. Also various scenes of floods (Hutt River), and storm damage. Photographs associated with roads and railways include steam locomotives, tunnels, bridges and viaducts, some under construction. Among the trip photographs are views of Ngaruawahia, including King Koroki's house (opened in 1938) and the Maori Parliament House. Description: Snapshots of family and friends associated with Ruby Victoria Jackson, taken by unidentified photographers. Many of the people shown are unidentified, or only identified with Christian names. Many of the images relate to sheep stations won by three Jackson brothers in the soldiers' ballot after the first World War, 1914-1918. They owned Netherwood (originally by a Johnson who married a Jackson), Te Arowhenua and Berridale in the Waihopai Valley; also Leatham and The Branch Station on the Branch River. Other sections of the album relate to holidays, including trips to the West Coast, and to the North Island. Several views of Wellington are night scenes. The funeral ceremonies for Miss Jackson's father, Walter James Jackson, are shown in a number of photographs; and the last sequence shows Chinese friends probably associated with Miss Jackson's links with the Chinese Anglican Mission; and the visit of Dr Toyohiko Kagawa to New Zealand in 1935. Description: Album of photographs of New Zealand and the Pacific taken 1930-1934 by Lord Bledisloe, comprising views of Government House (Wellington), Queen Charlotte Sound, Treaty House (Waitangi), Kawau Island, Whanganui River, Pipiriki,Jerusalem, Galatea, Ranana, Ruatahuna, Whakarewarewa, North Cape, Deep Creek (Nelson), Lake Waikaremoana, Mt Ngauruhoe, Lake Rotoroa (Nelson), Franz Joseph Glacier and environs, Rarotonga, Pago Pago, and Tongatapu. Also included are portraits of Mita Taupopoki, Honi Te Heu Heu, Guide Rangi, and Lord & Lady Bledisloe; a Cutty Sark seaplane of the New Zealand Permanent Air Force, the interior of a Ringatu meeting house at Ruatahuna, Maori groups, swordfish and trout fishing, and a scheelite mine at Deep Creek.
