Description: Family photograph album relating to the Shearman family of Wanganui. Contains cabinet card and carte de visite portraits taken circa 1870s-circa 1890s by a range of photographers. Includes a tintype, and two other photographs, of John Shearman, possibly when he was a member of the Armed Constabulary. All other persons unidentified. Compiler of album unidentified. Source of title - Title supplied by Library Quantity: 1 album(s). Physical Description: 1 album with loose photographs. Includes cabinet cards, carte de visite, tin types, and a cyanotype. Provenance: Retrieved from a rubbish bin, by Marie Hickey, during a clean out of a Shearman family home in Wanganui some years ago. Marie Hickey is the cousin of the donor. John Shearman is Marie Hickey's (cousin of the donor) maternal grandfather.
