Description: Copy of an 1870 cadastral map of land blocks within the Manawatū-Wairarapa Block, from the Tararua Ranges eastwards to the Puketoi Range and Castle Point Block. Blocks indicate name, number and acreage, and include Kaihinu, Pahiatua, Te Pukahu, Mongorongo, Eketāhuna, Ngatapu, Ihuraua, Manawatū, Mangahauo, Puketoi, Tautane, Makure. Two blocks include note 'not passed the [Native Land] Court' (Kaihanga, Mangahao no. 3; 7,000 acres and Puketoi no. 6; 3,200 acres). Includes annotations such as the addition of Mangakao no. 2 block in 1881. Includes names of rivers, streams. Note on map reads: 'Produced before the N[ative] L[and] Court at Masterton Wairarapa September 7th 1871'. [Signed] J Rogan'. Note on map reads 'This ? does not conflict with Crown Lands' Judge (signature indeciferable) 'Oct 23 '[18]71' Written on map, bottom left: '897', '2387' Written under map 'This plan is now numbered 88B'. Description: Cadastral surveyed map of Masterton as a small farm settlement in circa 1856, eastwards of the Ruamahanga River, westwards on either side of the Waipoua River, along the Waipakako Creek, and on the northern side of the Kuripuni Creek, and east of that Creek. Over 100 sections are surveyed showing section number, acreage, owner's name (a few are unnamed); most over 40 acres. Map also shows reserves, unnamed roads, and Masterton's centre. Description: Cadastral map of part of Whareama 3 land block and surrounding area, north of Riverdale and east of Masterton, from the Tauweru River, north-eastwards to the Tinui township, and southwards including the Mangapokia Stream, Whareama River and Gladstone. The coastline is indicated. Part of the map, from Tinui to the Mangapakeha and Mangapokia streams indicate section numbers and acreage. Much of the rest of the map indicates section boundaries only. Some of the sections include the names of landowners: R Miller, J Miller, E Pearce, W G Rutherford, A J Rutherford, J Vile, John Morrison, Dymock, Carswells.
