Description: Most of the collection is of images of New Zealand buildings. The most extensive area covered is the Wellington region which includes Wellington City, Lower Hutt, Petone, and the Kapiti coast. Wellington City is extensively covered with photographs taken between 1977 and 1980. Subjects include old and new houses, old and new office and commercial buildings, shops, churches, halls, and street scenes. Architectural images include details such as cast iron, fretwork and turned ornamentation, murals in commercial buildings and public sculpture. Also included are smaller architectural subjects like telephone boxes. Other places include Akaroa, Rotorua, Masterton and the Wairarapa.
