Description: Collection comprises a selection from Foxon's autobiography, `Herd testing in Northland, 1941-1945' in which she describes her training as a tester and practice as one in the Northland-Hokianga region where she was eventually appointed Government tester for Northland. She describes the social life of the areas where she worked, various personalities, the difficulties and the pleasures of the life. The selection on Kopuawhara, a public works railway camp in the northern Hawke's Bay, describes Foxon arriving there as a 13-year-old from Tauranga to be partly in charge of her family, the way of life of a works settlement, social activities and meeting with her future husband.
