Description: A cadastral map of rural lands open for selection on lease in perpetuity, of the area from the Te Awaroa River to the Wai-inumia Stream, including the Kawhia-Alexandra Road. This base map has numbered sections, some have been coloured, and include acreages, owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. A small map, named Kawhia North S.D., mounted at the top left of the main map, is of sections 5 and 7 which are adjacent to the Awaroa River and one and a half miles to the Hauturu P.O. Includes one owners' name, acreage and a mounted cutting about section 5 and handwritten information including the poster number and date. A second cutting about section 3 is mounted on the bottom left of the main map and includes the relevant poster number and date. The map on the reverse has some sections outlined in red with a prominent note stating 'Superseded. See map on face'. The base maps are of sections in the Kawhia County. Auckland land district No. 753. A schedule of the second class land is referred to in a key. The map includes directions to the nearby settlement of Kawhia, and the vegetation and terrain are named. Description: Base maps of rural lands open for sale or occupation with right of purchase, or for renewable lease, in terms of the Land Act, 1908, in the Wharepapa Survey District, West Taupo County and in the Waipoua Survey District in the Hokianga County. The boundaries of farm blocks in the Wharepapa Survey District, Sections 1, 6,7, 11-24, are prominently outlined, the majority include owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. A scenic reserve, domain and recreation reserve, hospital reserve, cemetery and creamery sites, and the Puniu, Waipari and Mangaharakeke Streams are marked. The roadman's paddock, the school site and temporary reserve have Gazetteer numbers. Brief descriptions of the terrain and vegetation are included. The base map of the Waipoua Survey District has two cuttings about land in the Wharepapa Survey District mounted over the top of it. The first cutting has '1393, 25-7-21, cash or D.P.' written adjacent to it while the second cutting has '1406, 23 & 25-1-2l, for general application' The main base map is of farm sections in the Wharepapa survey district, 15 miles from Kawa Railway station in the West Taupo County, Auckland Land District No. 1195. The second base map is of farm sections in the Waipoua Survey District, 8 miles from Kaihu, in the Hokianga County. A schedule of these districts include the valuations, acreages and rent. Description: A base map of the Rotorua district has numerous added notes, handwritten in the margins and over the top half of the map itself. These cover a variety of topics and include names of individuals, Maori chiefs, where they lived with some events and occupations. Multiple Maori place names are included with descriptive notes in English. Some dates are recorded with details of battles and numbers killed. Topographical features are marked, such as land cave, waterfall, hot spring and unrelated references such as a note about a half-full kete of tawa berries. Names include: Pirimi Mataiawea, Gilbert Mair, N'whakane, Paddy Murphy - deserter from Imperial Regt., Te Waharoa, T.H. Smith - Maketu, Tamati te Aorangi - Maori war veteran. Description: A base map of rural lands and small grazing runs for lease in the Tauhara Survey District, on the shores of Lake Taupo, has been used by H. Hill to show his own land and other sections leased by him. Several farm blocks include pencilled monetary values while others are shaded and include positions of buildings. H. Hill's own section has handwritten notes 'Afforested & finish', 69 acres, Sold' and adjacent to this section a note states ' Letter to I. Hislop Oct 23/22 re leasing reserve/thermal sp.'. A handwritten pencilled note states 'George Wall, Waitahanui, Tender for fencing' with several pencilled arithmetical sums. The Taupo - Napier Road continues as hand-drawn lines in ink across farm sections. Several sections are marked as withdrawn. A hand-drawn compass indicates the aspect. A letter mounted on the bottom right of the map is a reply from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, K.M. Graham, to H. Hill about lease of extra land. The base map itself is of sections of lands in the Tauhara Survey District, Auckland Land District No. 1095. Includes references to Native Owners and Crown Land, a thermal springs reserve. An extensive statement on the left side of the map begins with the heading Rural Lands and small-grazing runs for lease, and include the date of 24th. October 1911 at the District Lands Office, Auckland. A schedule of the sections includes the valuations, acreages and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow with the printed name of Eric C. Gold Smith, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Includes an abstract of the conditions of lease. Names listed are: G. Description: A poster-plan map number 839 made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of Whareorino survey district available for lease, the other a locality plan of the locality in the Waikato, from North Cape to Taupo. The cadastral map depicts Whareorino S.D. VII as Crown Land, and highlights in red the narrow strip of 230 acres along the cliffs as the land available for lease. Also depicts 1231 acres of Crown Land assigned to WH Cummings and GP Moore, 596 acres of Crown Land assigned to J T Hatton, Lot 1 of 2 assigned to W F Spence, with 666 acres of Lot 1 and 2 of X assigned to WF Kelly and HJ Kelly. Description: A poster-plan map of Auckland Land District no. 1317 depicting 2102 acres of land for sale or lease to discharged soldiers. Made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of the Mangoira Block, indicating numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The other is a locality plan of the area from Kaipara Harbour south to New Plymouth which has an arrow pointing to Awakino. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', and instructions to applicants. The cadastral map depicts the Awakino North Survey District, with handwritten names listed as CM Raven, MC Pratt, LR Jones, T Cummings, GP Sage, CJ Randell, (earlier owners include Claud Neville de Gray Stevens, S Whitehead). Bordering these properties are the owners WD Black, JR Terrille, SM Black, Thomson, Jones, Cummings, Condon, Beuck, and well as two Native Reserves, and Native owners (Maori land blocks) of Mahoenui no. 4b and Manga - Awakino no. 4. Description: Base maps of lands for selection on renewable lease in the Poroporo settlement, Masterton County. The boundaries of farm sections in the Wellington Land District, No. 672, are prominently outlined and include descriptions of the fences. The Wainuioru River and Kuamahunga Stream are marked as are sites of homesteads. The base map of the Poroporo settlement has a newspaper cutting about the result of the land ballot mounted adjacent to it. Section and Block numbers are recorded along with the price, number of applicants and names of successful applicants in Otahuao and Wainuioru Survey Districts. The first inset locality map adjoins the main map and shows the roads and rivers to Masterton, using a smaller scale. The second inset locality map is of the bottom half of North island showing Poroporo. A schedule includes acreages and rent. Description: Two base maps on one sheet, slightly overlapping, of rural lands for selection on the optional system. The largest map is of the area from the Whaingaroa Harbour, now known as Raglan Harbour, northwards. This cadastral map has numbered sections, some coloured, and include acreages, owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. Map 2 is comprised of two sections, numbered 3 and 4, including acreages of the area adjacent to the Tawarau Stream and Mangarere Road. Includes two owners' names and one date is recorded. School and creamery sites and a quarry are marked. The Raglan Mangati Road and the Ruakiwi Road are named. The base maps are of sections in the Kawhia South and Whaingaroa Survey Districts. Kawhia South Survey District is numbered 2, and is of Sections 3 and 4, Block XV. Sections marked with red are either first or second class land and are referred to in a key. Both maps include directions to nearby settlements, some with mileages, and the vegetation and terrain are named. A schedule of these districts include the section number, acreage, value and rent. Description: A sale plan of Rural lands for sale by ballot in the Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey districts annotated with the names of successful purchasers, 1912. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Commissioner. Base maps of rural lands open for sale or selection in terms of the Land Act, 1908, in the Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey Districts. The boundaries of farm blocks in these districts are prominently outlined, some coloured and the majority include acreages, owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. Native and forest reserves, creamery and school sites, a township, possibly known as Waipari, and tracks are marked. The Mangarata, Wairakei, Punui and Te Hue Streams and the Aotearoa, Wairakei, Wharepunanga and Mangawheo Roads are named, as is the Taupo Track. Directions are given to several settlements including Wharepuhanga, Otorohanga, Tautori and Taumarunui. Some sections include Gazetteer numbers. Includes trig points and relief is shown. Three cuttings relating to the Wharepapa Survey District, Otorohanga County and one cutting related to discharged soldiers in Wharepapa Survey District, West Taupo County are all mounted adjacent to the map. Each cutting has handwritten information including the poster number, dates and 3rd. class which refers to the quality of the land. The base map is of farm sections in the Wharepapa and Ranginui survey districts, Auckland Land District No. 1114. A schedule of these districts include the valuations, acreages and rent. Description: A sale plan of Rural lands for sale by ballot in the Hurakia and Ongarue Survey districts annotated with the names of successful purchasers, 1920. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Comissioner. Comprises two maps of similar size, 'Hurakia Survey District, sections in Block V' and 'Ongarue Survey District, sections in Blocks V, VI, IX and X'. Both maps are in Auckland Land District no. 1377, and depict lands open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Settlement Act, 1915. Both indicate numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The map also has a small locality plan of the area from Helensville to Waiouru. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', instructions to applicants, and abstract of conditions. The cadastral map of the Hurakia Survey District depicts the handwritten names MJ Dynan, WM Peterson, J Sheely, WK Wilton, and identifies the timber reserve as Provincial State Forest 'Gaz. 1922 p. 1634.
