Description: View looking from the hills above down towards the town and the lake, with Mount Tarawera to the right. Numbers form a key to Te Mu old mission station, Hazard's, McRae's, Graham's, Snow Temperance Hall, Maori House, Old Mill, Road to Rotomahana, Mount Tarawera. Te Wairoa was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Tarawera, 10 June 1886. Supplement to the Evening Post; date conjectured from B-033-020, tinted lithograph published in the New Zealand Herald, 21 June 1886. On verso: 2 maps of Hot Lake district.
