Description: Map of the Telegraph Hotel, Otaki, next to the telegraph office, shown as situated on the corner of an unnamed intersection. The diagram shows the hotel property as comprising four buildings, the hotel itself and three smaller buildings (of varying sizes). The plan states the property is owned by Mr F. Martin. The hotel section and land behind it is highlighted pink. Contains a pencil annotated drawing of the two-storeyed hotel, a cottage beside it and cottages behind it. Description: A surveyed, cadastral map of part section number 25, Lower Hutt, bounded by the intersection of Waiwhetu Road and the old Main Road from Wellington to Wairarapa. The highlighted part section is over 15 perches and built on it is a bank and a small dwelling. It is bounded by property owned by R Cleland (including a store) and H Brandt. The Whitewood's Hotel is opposite. An unsigned handwritten note of length on the map states that the intention is to bring the section boundaries under the provision of the Land Transfer Act, 1870. Description: Cadastral map of the Pito-one Town Board, showing sections 1-8 and 79, street layout, property boundaries, numbered residential sections, dwellings, railways, businesses and cemeteries. The town is divided into the west and north east wards, and is bounded by sections 19, 78 (Te Raho Kapawai), 16, 17, 9 and 10 and the Maungaraki Native (Maori) reserve. The map includes a large Public Works Department, the Pito-one Station, a brewery, timber yard, the Gear Company Works and wharf, Marine Retreat Hotel, woollen factory, schools, Wainuiomata waterworks main, Waltonville, the Working Men's Club, Oddfellows Hall, churches, and two Maori cemeteries (urupa) along the esplanade. Names on the map include: Te Ahi Parara, Te Upoko o te Poaka, Mr Tyer, Mr Kelly (shoemaker), Matene Tauwhare, Mr Reston, Mr Manning, Mr Ridler, Mr Chapman, Dr Hector and Mr E Barber. Description: Cadastral map of a Maori township called Takapuahia (Takapuwahia), Porirua, showing mostly unnumbered sections, numbered rather than named streets, the water's edge. Named sections include the Wesleyan Church, a reserve for the Church of England and Te Hiko's house. Names added to the sections at a later date include Tanihana Te Rauparaha, Hoani Okoro, and some have crosses or prices on them. Swamp and bush are indicated.
