Description: Rore Pat Stafford gives a mihi, karakai and whakapapa. Talks about Maniapoto, the Whare Tupuna and its transportation to Hangatiki in 1947, a local Maori reserve in Waitomo petitioned in 1956, local rivers and mountains, fish found in the rivers and other food stuffs available in the past. Relates father, Harry Stafford's, whakapapa and lists affiliations with Ngati Kinohaku, Ngati Raro, Ngati Koata, Ngati Mahanga, Ngati Tama, Ngati Toa and Ngati Te Awa. Talks about his father's farming career. Describes childhood in Orahiri with family, schooling in Otorohanga and work in Parehauraku as a fencer before returning home as a farmer and community worker. Outlines chairmanship of the Otorohanga Maori Committee, the Kaputuhi Marae Committee and the Marae Pact Trust. Also states position as director of the Otorohanga King Country Wines and the Tauihu and Wakatu Paua Company, and membership with the Maniapoto Trust Board and the Wakatu Incorporation.
