Description: This almanac shows holy days on the Christian calendar throughout the year of 1849, and provides useful information about health, agriculture and foodstuffs. It also includes a scale of measurements and a chart of distances to major Maori settlements from Auckland. In addition, there is some material printed by Colenso specifically for the lay readers within his parish; this material advises them when he intends to visit, and how to conduct their work in his absence; there are also some annotations in Colenso's hand which appear to be reminder notes.
