Description: Hydrographic map of Lambton Harbour, from Kaiwharawhara Point, south-eastwards to Oriental Bay, in the Wellington Harbour. Shows extensive soundings in fathoms, a pa (kainga) and the Waterloo Inn at Kaiwharawhara Point, southwards to 'Cliff' (Pipitea) Pa, military barracks, Thorndon settlement, Government House and offices, Custom House, a pa (kainga) on the coast at ?Te Aro Stream, Mount Cook military barracks, a large inlet (to present day Basin's Reserve) and a mill. Stamped 'Hydrographic Office 13 Jan 1954'. Written on map (before copying) 'L9267 Shelf Xz (Tracing same no. & shelf)'. Provides latitude and longitude of Pipitea Point, and tidal range. Attached to bottom of map (before copying) is a sketch from off Point Jerningham showing the harbour to Pipitea Point, houses, ships and hills. Quantity: 1 map(s).
