Description: Five photographs of anchors from the St Jean Baptiste, which had been commanded by Jean de Surville, and which sank in Doubtless Bay in 1769. Two anchors were found by Kelly Tarlton in 1974. These photographs show the first anchor (and the second?). Also a photograph of the former cray boat the Miss Akaroa, probably at Napier. Sheet 2: Elevations and cross sections / E. L-J. and N. J., August 1973. (6 copies, including 2 with annotations and added date 20/1/74). Additional dye-line print, unnumbered sheet, entitled: Construction details / Norrie Johnson, Aug 1973. Shows 14 details of construction. Also includes 2 freehand plans on tracing paper. First is pencil and felt-tip showing contour lines on the site. Second is pencil sketch plan, site plan, and elevation from four sides. Mrs Lee-Johnson confirmed by phone on 5 February 1997, that the free-hand sketches are first thoughts about the same house, despite the differences in layout. The buildings include private residences (with the owners' names given where known), St Andrew's Church, the post office, the store at Totara North, the old bake house, the newspaper office, the old school and council chambers, the Old Oak (possibly a hotel), the Mangonui store, the hotel, and the old court house.
