Different Gear Meat Company shops are shown, in Jackson Street, Petone; in Upper Hutt; and at 94/98 Lambton Quay. The first `Primary Fresh Foods' shop opened by the company at 12 Bunny Street, Lower Hutt, is seen on opening day with a delicatessen section as well as meat department. There are exterior and interior views of the different shops. A number of views show hostel accomodation for meat workers, showing exterior views, a bedroom, a kitchen for communal use, and a social hall. The final section shows the Gear Meat stall at Hutt Valley Industries Fair, 19-27 August, 1960; and their stall at the Manawatu & West Coast Agricultural & Pastoral Association Show in November 1962.
