Description: The MV Limerick, probably in the Christchurch region. Taken by an unknown photographer from the Sumner Photo Service between 1925-1936. The Limerick was built in 1925 by W Hamilton and Company, Port Glasgow, for the Union Steam Ship Company. She was a twin screw motor ship of 8724 tons gross and 5500 tons net. The Limerick was transferred to the Indo Pacific Shipping Comapny in 1936 and was torpedoed off the coast of NSW, Australia, on 25 April 1943.
