Description: Records of Ngati Rangitihi in Matata (once called Richmond), Bay of Plenty. This was Pitara Takawheta Mokonuiarangi's book - he was chief of Ngati Rangitihi and Tapahoro and heir of Niheta Kaipara Mokonuiarangi (who was killed in the eruption of Tarawera). It contains copies of petitions to Parliament and other letters, some whakapapa, census of Matata ca 1870 and lists of families, births, deaths and marriages of his immediate family.
