Description: In the first frame a man smiles as he passes a billboard with a news headline reading 'Osama bin Laden dead'; he hopes this is 'an end to terrorism'. In the second frame he passes another billboard with a headline reading 'Another child abuse death' abd he thinks 'But not yet'. Context - Osama bin Laden, 54, was killed after a gunbattle with Navy SEALs and CIA paramilitary forces at a compound in the city of Abbottabad and was buried at sea. Osama bin Laden was behind Twin Towers attack 9/11/2001 which killed nearly 3000 people, including the 19 hijackers. Also the persistent cases of child abuse and deaths in New Zealand. Description: In a Maori village in the Urewera Country a group of Maori children are looking at an underground shelter. One asks if it is to protect them from the next tornado. Another replies that it is to shelter them from the next Urewera raid. The actions of the police raid in 2007 on Ruatoki over the issue of a possible terrorist training camp, as was confirmed by the findings of the Independent Police Conduct Authority in 2013, destroyed a lot of goodwill between them and the local Tuhoe people. Below them are six caricatures of the colourful Tuhoe protester, Tame Iti, wearing a selection of hats. The cartoonist's comment is 'ID Parade'. Refers to the Independent Police Conduct Authority finding on 22 May 2013 that actions by the New Zealand Police during the Ruatoki raids were unlawful, although the operation overall was reasonable and justified. Tame Iti, one of the Tuhoe protagonists in the affair who had been released recently from prison, was noted for his tendency to wear a variety of hats. Description: Shows a tiny Tame Iti, Maori activist, being found beneath one of the shoes of Nelson Mandela, South African anti-apartheid activist. Context: the trial of the 'Urewera four' originally accused of terrorism, that charge, since dropped, and now accused of illegal possession of firearms and participation in an organised criminal group. Tame Iti's defence lawyer Russell Fairweather said that Iti is an important leader in the country's history, comparing him to Nelson Mandela. "History is full of people getting half a story, having a preconception, reaching a conclusion which is often punitive, and then regretting it," Fairbrother said. In South Africa, Mandela is often known as Madiba, his Xhosa clan name; or as tata (Xhosa: father). Mandela has received more than 250 awards over four decades, including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize.
