Description: Map of central Wellington, from Tinakori Road, Thorndon, southwards to Brougham Street, Mount Victoria, showing proposed reclamation of land on the harbour side of Lambton Quay. Also shows streets, numbered sections, church land, cemeteries, schools, hospital, the Wellington Hotel, Pipitea Pa and Te Aro Pa and Native reserves. Reserves for Custom House, post office, law courts, public offices, the market place, and college reserves are also shown. Includes annotations (before copying) by John Pearse, showing the Kumutoto Stream, steep rises on Wellington Terrace to be levelled, and the residence of Mr R Hart in Hobson Street. Written on recto: 60291, and the name, identification, and details of original. Some annotations not visible on copy, such as pink and yellow annotations of reclamation proposal.
