This event was staged by the Upper Hutt Art Society and the city's Save The Children Fund sub-branch to raise money for the fund. Description: Cadastral map of the Parnell Borough of Auckland, from Mechanics Bay, St. Georges and Judges Bay down to Hobson's Bay, including the Waikato and Kaipara railway routes. Shows the Parnell rise and the road to Manukau and Epsom, Gladstone and Avenue Rd, St. Stephens, Ayr and Brighton, as well as the Domain. Sections 1-4 and 95 are shown, and numbered blocks and lots within each section. Grammar School, St Stephen's School, an orphan home, a cemetry, a sawmill the Alexandra Hotel, Windsor Castle. a cattle market and reclaimed land are also shown. Description: The first and largest section of this album records a trip in Canada and possibly the United States, made by a young man with a motor car about 1923. The second section are photographs taken on a visit to possibly Hawaii or Tahiti. Local people are recorded as well as a number of yachts tied up along the waterfront of a town, and a white warship. The third section include family photographs taken in Britain in the 1890s, and several shipboard views, two of which show what are probably crossing the line ceremonies involving a canvas swimming pool. Towards the end of the album a group of family photographs are associated with a large wooden New Zealand house. There is no information with the album Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).

Description: The essay covers the period 1830-1950s and details the lives of George and Tryphena Beer, from their marriage in Wiltshire, time spent of the Victorian goldfields, then to their arrival in New Zealand in 1860s onto the goldfields of Otago. They settled at Queenstown where seven of their eleven children were born. The essay also details the parallel wanderings and adventures of George Beer's brothers Henry, William and John, and sister Sarah Kyle. Description: In six cameos two men are seen drinking in a pub and discussing the world's affairs. One of them holds a newspaper open at the 'Race results' and the other comments that he sees that Allan Dick scraped home down in Waitaki. They appear to be talking at cross-purposes, confusing the race results and the by-election but the man interested in the race results says that he's talking about the tax cuts that Keith Holyoake hinted at 'when he had his bloke at the starting barrier'. Refers to Allan Dick's winning of the 1962 Waitaki by-election, after the sudden death of the Hon. Thomas Hayman, who had held the seat from 1949. Quantity: 1 original cartoon(s).
