Various trips include visits to the No. 1 Gorge and No. 3 Gorge during the building of the Mangahao Hydroelectric dam; partial ascent of Mt Hector in 1921; various attempts to cross the Tararuas between Levin and Eketahuna, with the full crossing achieved March 4-7 1927; the initial outing of the Levin-Waiopehu Tramping Club, May 25, 1927.
