Description: Handwritten copy of a letter from Bishop Selwyn to Joshua Thorp at Thames, concerning the imcomplete state of St John's College and the possibility of enrolling Thorp's son there (1846). Also, a letter from J King Davis at St John's College, to W Hampton Thorp asking to borrow Thorp's diary of his school days at St John's College (1912). Description: Sections one and two of an eight-part panorama. Judges Bay on the left and Rangitoto on the right in the background. In the foreground, a cluster of buildings with the largest identified as the Bishop's residence, a two-storied stone building. The building on the right containing the Maori adult school, weaving room and surgery is also two-storied and is half-timbered in mock Tudor style.
