Description: Handwritten copy of a letter from Bishop Selwyn to Joshua Thorp at Thames, concerning the imcomplete state of St John's College and the possibility of enrolling Thorp's son there (1846). Also, a letter from J King Davis at St John's College, to W Hampton Thorp asking to borrow Thorp's diary of his school days at St John's College (1912). There is a covering letter from Jessie Thorp, who provided thre original copies (1979). Quantity: 1 folder(s).

In the foreground, a cluster of buildings with the largest identified as the Bishop's residence, a two-storied stone building. The building on the right containing the Maori adult school, weaving room and surgery is also two-storied and is half-timbered in mock Tudor style.
