Description: The cartoon shows Avondale Racecourse (Auckland) after a session of night trots, with all the lights blazing but with only a single jockey on horseback coming round the track. A punter or trainer is walking out a door on the right, reminding the jockey to turn out the lights. Refers to the shaky financial position of the racecourse, at the time and possibly to extravagant management, with a barrage of lights for the sake of one rider.
