Description: Album recording a motoring and camping holiday through the South Island of New Zealand. This took in the New Zealand South Seas Exhibition in Dunedin and included the West Coast, Otago, and Canterbury. The central part of the album has images of Khandallah, Wellington, and the family home in that suburb. Family photographs include Doug on his Norton Motorcycle, and Jack and Neville similarly posed on a Douglas Motorcycle. Rene and Frank stand at the net holding tennis rackets, and mother has several images with young Joyce. The last part of the album recordes something of a holiday to Auckland where the family camped at Brown's Bay and took a trip to Kawau Island. A group shot on Mt Messanger on the way back and some views of Pukekura Park New Plymouth complete the album Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Album of photographs taken in the Otago and Southland Regions, by unidentified photographers. All the locations are well identified. Some of the images are related to railways, including railway tunnels (e.g. The Caversham Tunnel when under construction circa 1909), and the Hunts Road Tunnel; the Clutha Railway Bridge; the Wingatui Signal Box; the Balclutha Railway Station, railway yards, and sales-yards; railway barns; D-class engine (New Zealand Railways steam-engine No. 355); the Owaka Express; and bush tramway tracks, one sawmill typical of small mills in the Catlins area. Many of the images are taken with an emphasis on atmosphere, including sunsets, stormy days on the coast near Dunedin, evening at Ocean Beach, storm clouds at Lawyer's Head, and "By beach and sand-hill". Some images are labelled with captions naming the subject. Slides include: - Photographs relating to gardening, including a variety of flower gardens and vegetable gardens. These include an unidentified woman in her vegetable garden on a farm with a spaniel watching on, a man with a plough in a vegetable garden on the same farm, and a group of unidentified women with a wheelbarrow full of produce. Two studio images show plants formally arranged in pots [possibly copies?]. - Image of houses and buildings in New Zealand, including unidentified villas, Auckland University Clock Tower, 'Otahuna' (the residence of Sir Heaton Rhodes in Tai Tapu) with field of blooming daffodils in the foreground, [railway?] sheds at the Port of Tauranga with Mount Manganui in the background, the T&G Building and adjacent earthquake memorial colonnade in Napier, and the Cawthron Institute building and garden in Nelson. Set also includes images buildings in England including a country cottage, Tudor houses [in Chester?], the chapter house of an unidentified cathedral, and Georgian terrace houses. Identified people are: Kopara Sawmill workers Bill Brown, Owen Jacobs, Morry Pullman, Hans Van Ruyven, Jimmy Birchfield, Doug Macalister, Joe Kavanagh, Neil McLean, Archy Fluerty, saw doctor John Henry Ord, Ted McGhie; licensee of Nelson Creek Hotel D Graham; Dorothy Debenham; Mick Bowie, and chief guide at Mt Cook Hermitage.
