Description: State luncheon Wellington, West Coast and Nelson tour undertaken by the Netherlands Delegation, and three official events relating to the tercentenary. These comprised a ceremony at Hokitka on December 12, unveiling the Tasman Memorial at Tarakohe overlooking Golden Bay December 18, and the official opening of the Able Tasman National Park by the Governor General on December 19. The Dutch Delegation came via Australia and was led by Dr C O van der Plas who was president of the Netherlands Indies Commission for Australia and New Zealand Many, but not all of the photographs were taken by John Pascoe. He features in some of the photographs manning his camera or talking to the Dutch visitors on the Franz Joseph Glacier.
