Description: In the left foreground is a group of Maori and with two canoes on a beach with golden sands, possibly near the mouth of a stream. To the right is an arched rock and another unusual rock formation, with two women gathering shells. Bush-clad hills behind to the right and sea and the distant hills of Nelson to the left.
