Description: A large villa near Waiau, Canterbury, with a front verandah and turret on one wing, sits on a slight rise against a backdrop of trees. Grounds are extensive. Photograph taken possibly in 1925 by Robert Percy Moore. House owned by M Macfarlane in the 1920s, garden designed by Alfred Buxton. Inscriptions: Marginal notes on negative - right of image - "M. [T.] MacFarlane "Lyndon" Waiau, Amuri. 3 oils. Dark red buildings. Red, pink & white roses on left of house. Pink and yellow flowers on right. All colours in 2 beds on drive.
