Description: Small book of photographs of early Auckland and some Maori studies. Two of the photographers are John Kinder and Hartley Webster but there may be others unidentified. Arrangement: Negatives housed at: 1/4-015157 to 015172 and 1/2-018462 to 018463 Processing information: It is believed that the album was dismantled after deposit. The two original prints mounted on one small page in this collection may be from the album. Knowledge of the other images comes from the reference to Bennett's deposit on the back of the file prints. The album has been taken apart and only two original prints are still locatable.

Description: Shows a corner of the harbour at Picton, with a cottage near the water's edge at the left. Its slab chimney is smoking. A path at far left leads away over the hill, presumably towards the settlement. In the middle distance is a group of buildings beside a wharf, beside which a small ship is anchored. Artist's notes at lower left: 'Roof of cottage blue zinc with rusty iron. Chimney yellow clay with blue black (iron) top' Other Titles - January 1872 Inscriptions: Recto - bottom left - [Title] Similar to the image at C-085-006, which is a print from an original watercolour held at Auckland Art Gallery (Accession number 1937/15/88).
