Description: Chromolithograph from the late 19th or early 20th century, depicting Speight's City Brewery, Dunedin, with brick buildings on both sides of a city street, sloping down to the harbour in the background. There is a tram and several horse drawn carts on the street. Instructions on the verso for the use of this "Permanent opalescent window sign": Dip sign in water 20 seconds Lay sign on glass, window or door pane Lay a piece of hard paper over sign and squeeze out water with side of a pencil Next day dealer's clerk soaks paper with water and lifts paper from sign or paper will come off first time window is washed.
