Description: Suspended flume under construction between the main land and Seal Island, just offshore from the mouth of the Fox River, Buller district, West Coast. It will enable coal to be sent to the island where it will be later picked up by ships. Photograph taken circa 1925-1941 by Lawrence Andrew Inkster. Source of descriptive information - Notes on back of print. Dated by flourishing dates of the photographer. Inscriptions: Verso - Fluming Coal from main land to Seal Island at Fox River (Greymouth).
