By: Huddleston, Francis Fortescue Croft, 1846-1922

Description: A view looking down to a valley floor, showing a wide sweep of flat land, a farmhouse and outbuilding. The fences and planting of a bushline appear to be quite new. Date ascribed by archivist based on similarity to drawing at A-468-014. Inscriptions: Verso - top right - [M?] [?] [?ett] [Buller or Butler?] Artist and surveyor Francis Fortescue Croft Huddleston was the brother of Eugenie Eugenie Elizabeth Croft Hayter, nee Huddleston, 1854-1936, who married Captain Francis Hayter in 1873. Hayter purchased Rollesby run (formerly Burkes Pass Station) in 1882. Quantity: 1 drawing(s). Physical Description: Ink and watercolour on paper, monochrome, 235 x 345 mm Provenance: Information from the vendor states the drawing was previously owned by the Hayter family. Processing information: Record and digital surrogate title updated on 7 July 2023 on advice of a researcher. Text suggesting the location was "possibly part of the farmstead belonging to the family of Captain Francis Hayter, who married Huddleston's sister Eugenie" was removed, the date 1866 was added, and geographic names for Rollesby Range and Burkes Pass were removed.
