Description: Shows several sailing ships in the bay (Tata Beach) seen from high up, with two outlying islands (Tata Islands) in the middle distance. Several Maori craft are shown, including two canoes pulled up beside huts on the beach at bottom left corner. On a promontory at centre foreground, a group of three Maori rest, with a European who has set up a theodolite on tripod.
