Description: News item from Napier announcing an incident in Poverty Bay, four miles from Napier, involving Te Kooti and his men, and Captain Reginald Biggs who had been pursuing him for some time. The ship "Success" brought surviving settlers to Napier. This preliminary report suggests that 28 Europeans and 9 friendly Maori were killed. Quantity: 1 b&w art print(s) on galley proof..
