Description: Album includes photographs of the design and construction of power stations at Horohora, Lake Coleridge, Mangahao, Arapeti, Tuai; the construction of the Khandallah substation etc; and close-up views of machinery and equipment, including a pole lorry, insulators, a transformer room, and generators. Two views show aspects of the Broken Hill Associated Smelters Pty Ltd, at Port Pirie in South Australia, one view of "flying foxes" for filling smelter bins, and one (in colour) emptying slag pots. Photographs probably taken by William Bampton Morton, an engineer with the State Hydro-Electric Department Inscriptions: Album page - "W.B. Morton, Wellington, July 1924" Quantity: 1 album(s).
