Description: This scene may or may not be in New Zealand. Shows hanging glacial valley with waterfall at right. In the left foreground are two dead trees, one lying down, with two native figures beside it. The trees may be North American rather than Pacific. Previously attributed at different times to Charles Blomfield (according to Graham Chote of International Art Centre Parnell), and to Nicholas Chevalier. Inscriptions: Unsigned and undated. Quantity: 1 oil(s) on canvas stretched on frame.. Physical Description: Oil, on frame 180 x 307 mm. Provenance: Bought by Dr Neville Hogg at International Art Centre, Auckland, 1976. Purchased by John Crowder at Peter Webb's auction, with another oil, by the same hand (G-230-1), Auckland 12 August 1993, lot 279.
