Description: View across an inlet to a steep hill, topped with a cross or beacon. There is a jetty, four houses and another construction at the foot of the hill. Crawford has identified all of the other sketches in this sequence on their versos. The lack of identification on this one suggests that he himself was not sure what it represented. It is not identifiable as a part of Wellington, unless it is Mount Victoria seen from across Evans Bay. Perspective was not Crawford's strong suit and this may be the correct identity.
