Description: Shows a bearded pipe-smoking man sitting on a wooden case in a house. It has rafters and posts supporting a central ridge pole, and there are baskets hanging off a central beam between two posts. A barrel at the right serves as a surface for bottles and containers. A tin bath(?) hangs on the far wall next to a bunk and wood storage. Printed as an Alexander Turnbull Library print in 1980. Exhibited in 'Wide-Eyed: Early Images of New Zealand' exhibition of works by settler artists, held at the National Library of New Zealand Gallery, 18 July - 9 November 1997.
