Descriptions of farm land, bush, stations etc in the Waikato, at Maketu and in the Taihape district. Details of horses, horse auctions, races and hunts. Visits to James Williamson's home. Trip from England to New Zealand 1886. Some incidents appear in his book Memories of Sport and Travel Fifty Years Ago (Auckland, 1938).
