Description: View from Owhiro Bay looking towards the South Island along the coastline and the rocks beyond the Bay. The large jagged rock formation at the foot of the hill on the left may be Devil's Gate Miss Jessie Barraud exhibited at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts in 1883. The initials 'J B' may be hers, prior to her name change to Wright on marriage.
