Description: A pre-eruption view of Lake Rotokakahi (Green Lake) shows the Maori village of Kaiteriria. In the left foreground a group of Maori is seated on the ground beside a raised storehouse (pataka), with several other pataka and whare further away. There is a stake fence between the pataka and the whare, as well as another pataka on the headland reaching away into the lake. Three figures sit in a waka with a small rectangular sail at lower right. The island or headland at the far right has a flat top which may be a pa site.
