Description: Shows a view of the river as it meanders from amongst hills to flow to the right across a broad plain. William Campbell Walker owned the Mount Possession run near Ashburton. Lake Coleridge is probably in the background behind the hills rather than being visible in the picture. Two men, three horses and a dog are standing beside the wagon, which is standing at the side of a road, curving away around the corner of a road that follows a river though mountainous country. There are snow-capped peaks in the distance. Several birds flutter around the hut, and there are stands of native bush at left and right. Description: Shows a weir across a stream in the foreground and a farmer and his dog driving a flock of sheep on foot, on the plain in the middle distance. Evening light strikes the Southern Alps in the distance. "Our view is taken from the plains lying at the foot of Mount Alford, a few miles from the station of that name, showing a sheep-washing place in the foreground. This high mountain range forms a grand background to this part of the Canterbury Plains stretching from Mount Somers to Mount Hutt, a part of which is seen to the right of the picture, and at the foot of which the River Rakaia flows". Description: Shows a South Island high country sheep station, with homestead and outbuildings, with a river flowing past, and mountains in the background. Sheep are scattered over the hill in the foreground, and there is a haystack beyond the stand of trees around the homestead. A horse and cart stand outside the outbuildings to the far left. Almost identical to the work at D-022-007, from which the location has been ascertained. The river is probably the Harper River and the location is probably Lake Coleridge.
