Description: William Fox's homestead "Westoe" on raised land amongst trees in the middle distance. A lower field with cows grazing in the foreground, probably the home paddock. Description: Shows two women tending flowers, with a Maori gardener behind them. They have a watering can beside them and the gardener has a wheelbarrow and a rake. There are tall trees in the background. The scene is in the garden of the artist at his pastoral run, Westoe. Property shown is Fox's first home on the river flat at Westoe. He built his second home here on a higher river terrace in 1874 Exhibited in 'About women, about time' Exhibition at the National Library Gallery, 2 July - 23 October 1993.
