Evans, Malcolm Paul, 1945- :Capital gains tax. 7 July 2011

Date: 2011

From: Evans, Malcolm Paul, 1945- :Digital cartoons

By: Goff, Philip Bruce (Hon), 1953-; Key, John Phillip (Rt Hon), 1961-

Reference: DCDL-0018243

Description: Labour leader Phil Goff is depicted as a tailor. Floating in the air in a second hot-air balloon is PM John Key who waves cheerfully. Context: In the run up to the 2011 elections in November the Labour Party is trailing far behind the National Party. The cartoon suggests that Labour is being held back by old Labour principles and new right baggage from the 4th Labour government in the 1980s (Rogernomics) and is trying to attract interest and votes with the Capital Gains Tax idea. Colour and black and white versions available Quantity: 2 digital cartoon(s).
