Description: A cadastral map of rural lands open for selection on lease in perpetuity, of the area from the Te Awaroa River to the Wai-inumia Stream, including the Kawhia-Alexandra Road. This base map has numbered sections, some have been coloured, and include acreages, owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. A small map, named Kawhia North S.D., mounted at the top left of the main map, is of sections 5 and 7 which are adjacent to the Awaroa River and one and a half miles to the Hauturu P.O. Includes one owners' name, acreage and a mounted cutting about section 5 and handwritten information including the poster number and date. A second cutting about section 3 is mounted on the bottom left of the main map and includes the relevant poster number and date. The map on the reverse has some sections outlined in red with a prominent note stating 'Superseded. See map on face'. The base maps are of sections in the Kawhia County. Auckland land district No. 753. A schedule of the second class land is referred to in a key. The map includes directions to the nearby settlement of Kawhia, and the vegetation and terrain are named. A schedule of second class land is referred to in a key and include the section number, acreage and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow the with the printed name of James Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Lands. A statement on the left side of the map begins 'second class surveyed land, 3610 acres'. Includes the application date of 7th. September 1904 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. Description: Base maps of rural lands open for sale or occupation with right of purchase, or for renewable lease, in terms of the Land Act, 1908, in the Wharepapa Survey District, West Taupo County and in the Waipoua Survey District in the Hokianga County. The boundaries of farm blocks in the Wharepapa Survey District, Sections 1, 6,7, 11-24, are prominently outlined, the majority include owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. A scenic reserve, domain and recreation reserve, hospital reserve, cemetery and creamery sites, and the Puniu, Waipari and Mangaharakeke Streams are marked. The roadman's paddock, the school site and temporary reserve have Gazetteer numbers. Brief descriptions of the terrain and vegetation are included. The base map of the Waipoua Survey District has two cuttings about land in the Wharepapa Survey District mounted over the top of it. The first cutting has '1393, 25-7-21, cash or D.P.' written adjacent to it while the second cutting has '1406, 23 & 25-1-2l, for general application' The main base map is of farm sections in the Wharepapa survey district, 15 miles from Kawa Railway station in the West Taupo County, Auckland Land District No. 1195. The second base map is of farm sections in the Waipoua Survey District, 8 miles from Kaihu, in the Hokianga County. A schedule of these districts include the valuations, acreages and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow with the printed name of H.M. Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Includes an abstract of conditions of purchase. A statement on the left side of the map begins with '2,706 acres'. Includes the application date of 23 September 1913 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. The inset map is a locality plan of the area from the Hokianga River to the Poor Knights Island south to Kawhia Harbour. Kaihu and Wharepapa are indicated by red arrows. Description: A poster-plan map number 839 made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of Whareorino survey district available for lease, the other a locality plan of the locality in the Waikato, from North Cape to Taupo. The cadastral map depicts Whareorino S.D. VII as Crown Land, and highlights in red the narrow strip of 230 acres along the cliffs as the land available for lease. Also depicts 1231 acres of Crown Land assigned to WH Cummings and GP Moore, 596 acres of Crown Land assigned to J T Hatton, Lot 1 of 2 assigned to W F Spence, with 666 acres of Lot 1 and 2 of X assigned to WF Kelly and HJ Kelly. Description: A poster-plan map of Auckland Land District no. 1317 depicting 2102 acres of land for sale or lease to discharged soldiers. Made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of the Mangoira Block, indicating numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The other is a locality plan of the area from Kaipara Harbour south to New Plymouth which has an arrow pointing to Awakino. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', and instructions to applicants. The cadastral map depicts the Awakino North Survey District, with handwritten names listed as CM Raven, MC Pratt, LR Jones, T Cummings, GP Sage, CJ Randell, (earlier owners include Claud Neville de Gray Stevens, S Whitehead). Bordering these properties are the owners WD Black, JR Terrille, SM Black, Thomson, Jones, Cummings, Condon, Beuck, and well as two Native Reserves, and Native owners (Maori land blocks) of Mahoenui no. 4b and Manga - Awakino no. 4. Description: Cadastral maps of rural lands for sale or lease to discharged soldiers. The larger map is of Sections 1 to 9, some numbers having been added in pencil, of Block 3 of the Piopiotea Survey District, adjacent to Ohira South and including the Mangarautawhiri and Pungapunga Streams and a small loop of the Wanganui River. This base map has numbered sections, including acreages, which have been outlined and include owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. The second map is of Section 15, Block XII of the Pirongia Survey District and has 'For this section see Waitomo drawer' handwritten across it. Both of these maps have been struck through with a scribbled line. The Pirongia on the reverse is outlined in red while the Piopiotea map is coloured in red. The larger of the base maps is a plan of sections in the Piopiotea survey district of the West Taupo County. Auckland land district No. 1407. Description: A base map of the Taurewa block of the Tongariro State Forest from Okupata, including the Okupata and Mangetapopo Streams to the main highway (no. 48) between Tokaanu and National Park has been used to identify plantations of various types of trees, predominantly pine. The blocks of various varieties are colour coded, each with a handwritten Latin name of the type of tree, acreage and date. Two small pieces of paper have been glued on to the map in order to write details of that particular area. Several pencilled block numbers and acreages have been added. The base map includes streams, the main highway, including distances to National Park and Tokaanu. The Potaka Timber Company Mill and the company's road are both named and the Tongariro National Park. A brief reference key is included. Description: A base map of lands open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, in the Pukemapou settlement, West Taupo County. The boundaries of farm blocks, Sections 1S to 12S, are prominently outlined and include owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. The entire settlement is surrounded by a rabbit-proof fence and fencelines within the sections are marked as P&W and P&N. A good metal road, waterfall and the Waikeria Stream are marked. Section 1S is labelled 'Reproclaimed DSSA', Section 3S is labelled 'Forf' (i.e. forfeited), both having Gazetteer numbers. Descriptions of the state of the agricultural land is included. Windmills, a stable and homestead are marked. Six references are made to Rangitoto 'A' sections and Mangaorongo S.D. id written prominently close the boundaries of the subdivisions. The base map itself is of sections in the Pukemapou settlement of West Taupo County which includes the Mangaorongo S.D. Auckland Land District No. 1386. Sheds, stacks, styes, a silo and residences are marked. The direction of Kiokio Railway Station - 5 1/2 miles is marked as is Ouruwhero Block - native owners, and the main highway Otorohanga to Kihikihi.
