Description: The cartoon shows a warship representing ANZUS. The middle part, New Zealand is missing and can be seen chained to the New Zealand parliament buildings. The captain of the American part of the ship is reading a newspaper with a headline of, Nats catching up - polls. Lange is responding to the question, `Like you, Mr Shultz, we will niether confirm nor deny!'. Refers to the severing of the ANZUS treaty as a result of the US neither confirm nor deny policy over whether ships are nuclear powered.
