Description: Taupiri Mountain in the background, with the riverbank to the left and houses in the distance at the foot of the mountain. Copied by Hamley from a drawing of his superior officer, E. A. Williams, now in the Hocken Library in E. A. Williams' Notebook, p. 37. The Turnbull has a slide of this work (under the same title as Hamley's). A different view of Taupiri by Williams (Turnbull reference E-349-053/054) is dated 13 March 1864, hence the suggested date in the title Quantity: 1 watercolour(s).
