Description: Looking south along the coastline towards Paritutu Rock, with the houses of New Plymouth along the foreshore, a flag flying above one building on the skyline and a rowboat being hauled ashore onto the beach. Copied by Hamley from a drawing of his superior officer, E. A. Williams, 'Beach and Sugar Loaves New Plymouth.
