Description: A view across how hills, possibly with Auckland Harbour to the left. Several farms and houses with surrounding land are visible. Major Bunbury's dwelling is identified in the right foreground. Shows St Helier's See: Jackson, Elizabeth T. 'Delving into the post...part 6, pp 4 ff (q993.1). See also Una Platts, The lively capital, (Christchurch, Avon Fine Prints, 1971, p 91. The house called Glen Orchard, still stands with a 2nd storey. Bunbury left New Zealand in 1844, leasing his farm to Thomas Cleghorn. In 1849, he sold it to General William Taylor, naming the estate Glen Orchard. Quantity: 1 drawing(s).
