Description: The signature `May Moore' inside front cover, is possibly that of Mrs May Moore (daughter of Sir Joseph Kinsey), who travelled and mountaineered in the areas covered by the album. Album containing 21 scenes of the South Island. Of these, 12 were taken by photographers Muir and Moodie, between 1907 and 1913. The Muir and Moodie numbers for these views are 1810, 6743, 6752, 6780, and 6782 to 6789. The photographer for the other nine images is not identified. 24 leaves are blank. Several of the Muir and Moodie views were taken on 1st January 1913, a number of which show various stages of a group crossing the Haast Pass on horseback. Description: Album recording a motoring and camping holiday through the South Island of New Zealand. This took in the New Zealand South Seas Exhibition in Dunedin and included the West Coast, Otago, and Canterbury. The central part of the album has images of Khandallah, Wellington, and the family home in that suburb. Family photographs include Doug on his Norton Motorcycle, and Jack and Neville similarly posed on a Douglas Motorcycle. Rene and Frank stand at the net holding tennis rackets, and mother has several images with young Joyce. The last part of the album recordes something of a holiday to Auckland where the family camped at Brown's Bay and took a trip to Kawau Island. A group shot on Mt Messanger on the way back and some views of Pukekura Park New Plymouth complete the album Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Photographs taken by John Tenison Salmon between 1933 and 1958. There are various sequences as follows: Museum trip to Lake Waikaremoana, December 1946; Holiday trip in 1937 which included Mohaka, Lake Waikaremoana and Urewera Country; Cass-Torlesse biological trip, February 1936; South Island trip, March 1939; and a Southern Lakes and Hollyford Valley trip in January 1940. The holiday trip in 1937 includes photographs of the Mohaka Viaduct under construction. At the beginning of the album a photograph shows Lake Waikaremoana after 21 years of deterioration due to state Electricity Department actions. This image was taken in January 1958, from approximately the same spot as one taken in February 1937. The Cass-Torlesse biological trip includes an image of "vegetable sheep" (page 48). Description: Photographs of a group travelling in two Darracq automobiles, photographed by Algernon Charles Gifford. Probably a trip taken by Gifford and friends along Lake Pukaki to Mount Cook [in 1907]. Views show the cars on the road, fording rivers, and negotiating rough patches on the unsealed road. This album appears to be linked with Gifford albums 2, 4, 6 and 7. An undated article written by Gifford `To Mount Cook by motor car' (pasted in the back of Gifford album 2, at Pa1-o-182) was written for the Oamaru Mail. It describes the trip in detail, and this album appears to follow events spoken about in the article. The other albums show the party in the mountains, with mountain views, scenes of the group crossing the Tasman Glacier, and relaxing at various spots, including at Ball Hut and Malte Brun Hut. Description: Publicity photographs taken by various unidentified photographers for New Zealand Railways. The only identifying information is a few pencilled notes giving some locations, but there are no captions identifying people. There is a large sequence showing events surrounding the first celebrations marking the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on 6th February 1934 attended by Lord Bledisloe. He had purchased the site, and donated money for the Treaty House renovations in 1932. The celebrations brought 10,000 Maori to Waitangi. The images show huge crowds, haka parties, various iwi performing, and parties of dignitaries including Lord and Lady Bledisloe, Joseph Gordon Coates and George William Forbes. Other scenes with Lord Bledisloe show him visiting the Waitaki Hydroelectric power station. Views of New Zealand include Government Tourist Bureau accomodation houses including those at Waitomo and the Hermitage (Mt. Cook); accomodation houses at Helensville and Parakai with interior and exterior views, and showing activities available (spa pools, games such as croquet, golf, and bowls); anglers standing by swordfish they have caught; skiing and ski lessons; and waterfalls. Industrial and agricultural views show dairy cows, citrus groves, the Kiwi Bacon Factory, printing presses, and race courses.
