Date: 2009

From: Brockie, Robert Ellison, 1932- :Digital caricatures and cartoons

Reference: DCDL-0011154

Description: Two men watch as a coach and horses pass by. One of them thinks it must be the royal family en route to the palace but the other puts him right by explaining that it is the Lord Mayor, John Banks, on route to rule Auckland supercity. Refers to the move to amalgamate all the seven Auckland councils into a single council to run a 'supercity' with John Banks, who is currently Mayor of Central Auckland, as Lord Mayor. The part about the 'Lord Mayor' is a joke but Many believe that John Banks is aiming at something like this for himself. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
