Description: Depicts a man playing a pokie machine. Behind him is a mother and children pulling at his arm. A sexy tempting woman is sitting beside the pokie machine, and at the back of the machine is a businessman pocketing cash money and a builder building a convention centre. A 'Greens" Party man is trying to eat the pokie machine while a man wearing an 'L' badge representing the New Zealand Labour Party is standing on the foot of the Green Party man. Commentary from the artist: "My cartoon addresses the issues surrounding the deal struck between the John Key government and SkyCity casino in Auckland re funding a convention centre in exchange for the right to install a large number of gambling machines. Encouraging gambling is itself a kind of gamble. But then again the Convention Centre is a tempting payout." Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).

Description: A political leader addresses his followers: 'Before we fall into line for the conscience votes, do we have any questions?' A follower replies: 'Yeah - what's a conscience?' Accompanying note from cartoonist states 'Today's "conscience vote" in parliament dishonours the word "conscience"'. The Skycity Bill before Parliament, where the casino's gambling facilities expand in exchange for providing a convention centre in Auckland, was declared by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to be a 'conscience vote'. However the National government had already instructed its members to vote for the bill. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).

Description: Prime minister John Key is shown with two poodles - representing ACT Party Leader John Banks and United Future leader Peter Dunne. John Key says: "If there were any harm from increased gambling, my little doggies would let me know". One doggie says "Woof, woof. All looks fine to me, Mr. Key!" John Key is holding a plastic bag labelled "doggie do's (and don'ts)". An addict lies on the groung, hands are held out begging, and people crowd around an endless row of pokie machines in the background. Refers to the controversy surrounding a proposal by Sky City Casinos to build a national convention centre in Auckland in return for being allowed to have more pokie machines, which will require a law change. It was anticipated that John Banks and Peter Dunne would support a law change. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
